Services are available through in-person appointments in Glenhaven, NSW, and online training sessions.
Training programmes are tailored to each client's individual needs, goals, physical capabilities and movement patterns.
Functional Biomechanics does not provide medical diagnoses or replace the services of qualified medical or allied health professionals.
Where appropriate, clients may be encouraged to consult a healthcare professional before commencing or continuing training.
2. Initial Consultation and Assessment
New clients are required to complete an initial consultation and assessment before commencing regular training.
The assessment may include:
-
Review of relevant health and injury history.
-
Postural and movement assessments.
-
Gait and walking analysis.
-
Discussion of individual goals and physical limitations.
-
Identification of movement patterns requiring attention.
Clients must provide accurate and relevant information about their medical history, injuries, existing conditions and other factors that may affect their ability to participate safely.
Assessment findings are used to develop an individualised training approach.
3. Session Bookings and Scheduling
All training sessions are arranged by appointment.
Clients may book individual appointments or establish a regular weekly training schedule, subject to availability.
Regularly scheduled sessions are intended to provide consistency and support ongoing progress.
Clients are responsible for attending their appointments at the agreed time.
Functional Biomechanics reserves the right to adjust appointment availability where reasonably necessary and will endeavour to provide appropriate notice of changes.
There are no compulsory long-term contracts or lock-in periods for standard individual training sessions.
4. Session Fees and Payment
Session fees are communicated to clients before their initial appointment or when booking services.
Payment is due on the day of the scheduled training session, unless otherwise agreed.
Payment is preferably made by PayID or bank transfer using the payment details provided by Functional Biomechanics.
Invoices or receipts may be issued electronically.
Clients are responsible for ensuring payments are completed within the agreed timeframe.
Any outstanding payments must be resolved before further appointments where reasonably required.
Functional Biomechanics may review session fees periodically. Clients will receive advance notice of any changes to their applicable training fees.
5. Cancellation Policy
Functional Biomechanics operates a 24-hour cancellation policy to protect appointment availability and minimise the impact of late cancellations.
Clients who need to cancel or reschedule an appointment must provide at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled session.
Cancellations with 24 hours or more notice:
No cancellation fee applies.
Cancellations within 24 hours:
The full scheduled session fee may be charged.
Failure to attend an appointment:
Clients who do not attend a scheduled appointment without providing notice may be charged the full session fee.
This policy reflects the time reserved for each client and the limited opportunity to offer appointments to others at short notice.
Cancellation fees will be applied reasonably and in accordance with applicable consumer laws.
6. Rescheduling and Exceptional Circumstances
Functional Biomechanics understands that unexpected situations can arise.
In exceptional circumstances, discretion may be exercised to offer an alternative appointment rather than applying the standard cancellation fee.
Where a rescheduled appointment is offered:
-
Rescheduling is subject to available appointment times.
-
The alternative session should generally take place within a reasonable, short timeframe.
-
Clients are expected to make reasonable efforts to attend one of the available alternative times.
-
If no suitable alternative can be arranged, the standard cancellation policy may apply.
Rescheduling outside the standard cancellation policy is offered at the discretion of Functional Biomechanics and is not guaranteed.
Nothing in this section limits a client's rights under Australian Consumer Law.
7. Trainer Cancellations
If Functional Biomechanics needs to cancel a scheduled appointment, clients will be notified as soon as reasonably possible.
An alternative appointment will be offered where practical.
If a prepaid appointment cannot be rescheduled to a mutually acceptable time, the client may receive a refund for the affected session.
Clients will not be charged a cancellation fee when Functional Biomechanics cancels their appointment.
8. Client Health and Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate information about their health, injuries, medical conditions and physical limitations.
Clients should inform Functional Biomechanics of any relevant changes to their health or physical condition during their training programme.
Clients are encouraged to communicate any pain, discomfort, unusual symptoms or concerns experienced during training.
Training may be modified, postponed or discontinued where reasonably necessary for safety.
Clients should follow instructions provided during sessions and avoid attempting exercises beyond their current capabilities without appropriate guidance.
Where medical clearance is reasonably required, Functional Biomechanics may request that clients consult an appropriate healthcare professional before commencing or continuing training.
9. Training Participation and Results
Functional Biomechanics provides individualised training designed to improve movement quality, coordination, strength and physical function.
Progress varies between individuals and may depend on factors including consistency, health history, physical capabilities, lifestyle and participation in recommended exercises.
No specific outcome, timeframe or result is guaranteed.
Clients acknowledge that physical exercise involves inherent risks, including muscle soreness, physical discomfort and the possibility of injury.
Functional Biomechanics takes reasonable steps to provide appropriate instruction, supervision and exercise selection.
Participation in training does not replace medical treatment or professional healthcare advice.
